Michael Vanderkolk

Quantum Drone Systems is an engineering-driven company founded by Michael Vanderkolk, an engineer and FAA Part 137 drone applicator with hands-on experience in real-world UAV operations. We design and build drone ground support solutions that enable professional operators to work safely, efficiently, and reliably in demanding field environments.

Our systems support the infrastructure behind modern drone operations, including battery handling and transport, rapid deployment, and field efficiency. Every product we build is informed by operational realities, not theoretical use cases or hobby-grade assumptions. The goal is simple: give professional operators the tools they need to maximize uptime, protect equipment, and operate with confidence where it actually matters, in the field.

Operations 

Mike Byrne

Quantum Drone Systems is built by people who understand real-world drone operations. Mike Byrne brings hands-on agricultural drone experience and operator-focused insight to the QDS team.

Mike returns to the ag space after an eight-month hiatus, stepping into an operational and support role as QDS continues to expand its dealer and operator network. Many in the industry know him as a co-founder of Kingdom Crop Spraying and through his work with Southern Drone Ops, where he supported pilots, field operations, and practical deployment strategies.

As Kingdom Crop Spraying winds down due to business partner health reasons, Mike has moved into the next phase of his ag career with QDS. His focus is straightforward: helping operators get the right ground infrastructure, systems, and support to operate safely, efficiently, and profitably.

We’re glad to have him back in agriculture and on the Quantum Drone Systems team.
